Notre Dame Hounds Head Coach Opening

This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Director of Hockey Development.

The successful candidate will oversee the practice and game management of a high-performance U18 AAA hockey program.

Additional responsibilities include player recruitment, roster development and overseeing talent identification camps.

Responsibilities

• Lead a comprehensive and competitive U18 AAA hockey program participating in SMAAAHL games and showcase events
• Lead on-ice and off-ice training sessions, focusing on skill development, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning
• Create and execute game strategies, analyze opponents, and provide in-game adjustments to maximize team performance
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, accountability, and personal growth
• Contribute to scouting, recruitment and retention of top-tier student-athletes in collaboration with the hockey office and admissions team
• Develop and mentor assistant coaches
• Maintain strong communication with players, parents, and staff
• Represent Notre Dame at events and in media, where required
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, serving as a positive role model for student-athletes

Qualifications

• Coaching experience (HP1 an asset)
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
• Clean Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Commitment to Notre Dame’s mission and student mentorship
