Goalie of the Month for November 2020

Goalie of the Month for November 2020

Saskatoon Contacts goalie Ethan Chadwick has been named SMAAAHL's  Goalie of the Month for November 2020.

Chadwick joins Lind in receiving recognition and it is most certainly deserved. Chadwick was phenomenal to start the season, sporting a perfect 3-0-0 record, to go along with a 1.00 goals-against-average and .958 save-percentage.

The Saskatoon native, who returned to the Contacts following his rookie season at the U18 level where he finished the season with a 9-7-0 record, is showing his growth as a netminder in his second year on the U18 level.

Chadwick failed to allow more than one-goal in each of his three starts during the 2020-21 campaign, with his final start coming back on Nov. 15, in a 5-1 win over the Battlefords Stars.

The 16-year-old netminder has been a part of a formidable one-two punch between the pipes for the Contacts with fellow goaltender Max Hildebrand, with the pair backstopping the club to a 5-1-0 record, good for first in the SMAAAHL North division.

Chadwick is property of the Saskatoon Blades, who selected the Bridge City product in the third-round, 47th overall in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft. In his lone appearance thus far with the Blades, Chadwick backstopped the Blades to a victory over the Prince Albert Raiders in preseason play in 2019, stopping 39 of 42 shots in the contest.

This season has presented the goaltender with the opportunity to suit up alongside brother Noah once again. The pair were also teammates on the Saskatoon Stallions of the SAAHL U15 league during the 2018-19 campaign, while Noah also was a call-up for three games last season with the Contacts. Ethan is not the only one in the family to hear his name called on draft day, as Noah was selected in the third-round, 38th overall by the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft.

Chadwick will be striving to build upon his tremendous start to his second season with the Contacts in January.
